Shower filtration
Norvel Shower Filter
Free US shipping over $50 · 60-night trial
Multi-stage filtration that installs between your shower arm and the head you already own. Reduces chlorine, heavy metals and sediment for six months per cartridge.
What it filters
Free chlorine and chloramine, heavy metals including lead, iron and mercury, plus sediment, rust and scale. It also removes the chlorine smell.
It is not a whole-house softener and it does not make water drinkable that wasn't already.
Installation
Unscrew your existing shower head by hand, wrap the shower arm with the included tape, thread the Norvel housing on, then screw your shower head onto the outlet. Run the water for 60 seconds to flush the media. Five minutes, no tools.
Cartridge life & replacement
Roughly six months, or 10,000 gallons, for a two-person household. Replacement cartridges are sold separately and take about a minute to swap. We'll email you when yours is due.
Shipping & returns
Ships from Georgia in 1–2 business days with tracking. Free US shipping over $50. Return within 60 nights for a full refund — give it two weeks first, that's when the difference shows up.
Full details
Norvel threads onto your existing shower arm, between the pipe and whatever shower head you already own. Inside is a multi-stage cartridge that reduces free chlorine, chloramine, heavy metals like lead and iron, and the sediment and scale that older pipes shed into your water.
One cartridge lasts about six months, or roughly 10,000 gallons for a two-person household. Flow rate stays in the standard 1.8-2.5 GPM range, so your water pressure doesn't change.
Installs by hand in five minutes. No tools, no plumber. In the box: filter housing with cartridge installed, plumber's tape, and an install card. Fits standard 1/2 inch NPT US shower arms.
Why it matters
What changes in the first two weeks
Nothing dramatic on day one. The difference shows up in how your skin and hair behave by week two.
Skin that isn't tight after a shower
Chlorine strips natural oils. Remove it and your skin stops overcompensating.
Colour that holds longer
Chlorinated water is hard on dyed hair. Filtered water protects an expensive salon appointment.
No more film on the tile
Sediment and scale from older pipes ends up on your glass, your grout, and your hair.
Honest comparison
Not everything sold as a shower filter is one
Most of what sells online is a plastic cartridge of coloured beads.
